Therapeutic Group Homes

Residential treatment services are provided for males and females, ages 11 to 18 in one of two homes located on the island. Teams of Youth Workers, on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, work with six youth in each home.

Youth participate in minimum weekly individual therapy and family therapy with Hale 'Opio's licensed therapists, and participate in five weekly group sessions. Youth attend public school with daily on campus support and monitoring provided by Hale 'Opio's School Liaisons.

An after school Fine Arts program, including instruction in ceramics, photography, and other media, is integral to the therapeutic environment. Youth actively participate in art shows, and are the recipients of many awards

The program sponsors a canoe team for recreational purposes, developing teamwork and personal bests. Hale 'Opio collaborates with other community private and public agencies and professionals to create unique opportunities for every youth in an individualized program of services.
